backup of the first time

The first time is the one that can get you hooked, but allow yourself to start slowly and take breaks, ask questions, and allow yourself time to understand the exercises.  If you overdo it the first time, you may intimidate yourself. Don't try to keep up with everything immediately and just take it at your pace.

We cater to all fitness levels, ages and genders!  We have numerous clients from age 18-68! Many clients say they disliked exercise before becoming athenafit barre passionate, and our extreme fitness fanatics always shake by taking the intensity up a notch. It doesn't get easier, you just get stronger. We focus on non-intimidation and any class is for beginners if you lose the props, drink lots of water, and follow some of our suggestions to take it down a notch.

What do you wear and bring to class?  Wear capris or leggings (no shorts please), any top that makes you comfy, and socks. Bring water. We have the rest.

Should I get to class early? Arrive 10 minutes early on your first class to get a tour and setup.

What are props and what does lose the prop mean? We add exercise balls, bands, tubes and weights to increase the intensity.  We make them fun but we encourage you to drop them early on until you build your stamina. Try the exercise without the added resistance. Lastly, trust the process and don't give up.

Can my child come to barre?  Our youngest age is 12. For anyone who doesn't drive, we prefer adult supervision.
